Just like this giraffe getting a COVID vaccine shot doesn’t mean you took giraffe medicine.
He took the FDA-approved human prescription drug Ivermectin2 , typically used to treat river blindness – in people. It is one of the World Health Organization’s Essential Medicines3. The drug has an excellent safety profile, with more than 2.5 billion doses distributed in the last 30 years4. Now, in clinical trials, it has shown promise in reducing COVID deaths5.
To ignore all this and call it horse dewormer is an attempt to humiliate him and obfuscate its potential as a treatment for COVID. Not something a real news channel would do.
